Disneyland sets opening dates for Bayou Country shops and BBQ restaurant – Daily News



A Disneyland gift shop next to the exit for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will open before the reimagined ride with T-shirts, hats and souvenirs themed to the musical critters performing during a Mardi Gras party at the heart of the attraction.

The Louis’ Critter Club gift shop, taking over the half of Pooh Corner closest to the former Splash Mountain ride, will open on Nov. 13 — two days before the rest of Bayou Country.

Disneyland reopened the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh dark ride and the Pooh Corner candy store in late August.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure (formerly Splash Mountain), Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree (formerly the Hungry Bear restaurant) and Ray’s Berets (replacing the Briar Patch shop) will officially debut on Nov. 15 once the transformation of Critter Country into Bayou Country is complete.

Louis’ Critter Club — named for the jazz-loving alligator in Disney’s 2009 “Princess and the Frog” animated film — will offer apparel, accessories and home decor themed to the audio-animatronic critters in Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.

Ray’s Berets — named for the film’s Cajun firefly — will sell hats, clothes, toys and accessories themed to the new Princess Tiana attraction.

The new Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree will bring a thematic and musical overhaul to the Hungry Bear restaurant with a new barbecue menu.

The Splash Mountain log flume ride has been undergoing a thematic transformation into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure since May 2023.

Disneyland Magic Key previews for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will be held on select dates between Oct. 21 and Nov. 12. Disneyland cast member previews will begin Oct. 22 and run through Nov. 12.

Disneyland guide maps will continue to refer to Critter Country until the transition is official. References to Bayou Country may appear in Disneyland before the official transition of the rethemed land.
